Who we are
So Fresh kicked off with a pretty simple idea: sometimes the hardest part about moving forward is just showing up and feeling good in your own skin.
Having worked in the social sector, helping many men find work, a common issue we found was confidence.
For a lot of guys, the cost of a decent outfit or a haircut can be a real barrier. Even just a pep talk and a gentle reminder to use deodorant is all some guys need.
That’s where we come in. We hook them up with fresh threads, a trim, and a bit of confidence to carry into whatever’s next — whether that’s a job interview, a course, or just getting life back on track.
It’s not about fancy suits or flash labels. It’s about giving blokes a fair shot, making sure they feel sharp, and reminding them they’re worth backing.
At the end of the day, we’re here to keep it simple: look good, feel good, move forward.
Our Journey So Far
How You Can Help
So Fresh began with a simple idea — to help people look and feel their best by providing access to quality clothing and support that restores confidence and dignity. Since launching, we’ve been steadily growing and connecting with organisations across Canterbury, building the foundation for a lasting community service.
We’re now moving into our next big step: securing a dedicated space so we can start taking bookings and reach more people.

FAQs
What kind of jobs do you help people prepare for?
Pretty much anything, we understand that showing up sharp gives you the edge. We’ve supported guys aiming for trades, retail, hospitality, labouring, office gigs, and community roles. The outfit might look different for each — but the goal is the same: help you look confident, job-ready, and like you belong in the room.
How do I become a client?
Easy. Reach out through our website or get referred through one of our partner organisations (like MSD, community agencies, or mates we work with). Once you’re in, we’ll book a styling session, fit you out, and set you up fresh.
Does it cost anything?
Nope. Not a cent. Your outfit, haircut, and fitting are completely free. You walk away with the full kit, ready to take on what’s next.
Who can use So Fresh?
If you identify as male and you’re gearing up for work, study, court, an interview, or even just a big step in life — you’re welcome here. We work with all ages and backgrounds, especially those who’ve been knocked around by unemployment, mental health struggles, or just tough times. No judgment, just support.
Where does the clothing come from?
From the community. We collect donations of suits, shirts, shoes, and casual gear that’s in good nick. Local businesses and barbers chip in too, and we’ll top up with pieces from thrift shops if it means a client walks out looking sharp. Every item has a story, and it gets a second life helping someone step up.
Can I donate clothes or money?
Yes please 🙌 Clothes, shoes, belts, ties, and jackets in good condition are gold to us. And if you want to support with dollars, that helps cover barbers, rent, and keeping the lights on. For more info, click here
